Four new industrial hubs in Bengal
Kolkata, Jan 29 (UNI) West Bengal government will create four new industrial hubs in South 24 Parganas district to boost the growth of small and medium scale industries.
Speaking at a press conference here today, Cottage&Small Scale Industries Association, South 24 Parganas, President Sujan Chakraborty said, ''Each of these hubs will be set up in 100 acres and land acquisition process has already started. These hubs will be created in non-agricultural land.'' '' We are planning to offer alternative employment opportunities to the people of the state who are solely dependent on agriculture,'' he added. There are 27 industrial clusters in the state currently.
Talking about an industrial fair, which would start in South 24 Parganas from February 2 to 11, Mr Chakrabarty, also an MP, said, ''The government aims to create entrepreneurs in the SME sector.'' About 140 stalls would be created in this fair. DVC,port Trust, CNGC, WBDIC, Dabur, among others would be participating in this fair.
