5 day 'Samadhi Mahotsav' to begin at Nadiad
Nadiad, Jan 29: The famous Santram Mandir here would be celebrating a five-day 176th 'Samadhi Mahotsav' from January 31.
The five-day religious fair would end on February 4, and a large number of pilgrims are expeceled to throng the temple for the ''sakar varsha'' or ''sugar rain'' where the Santram temple maharaj would be throwing sugar lumps at the devotees. It is believed that whosoever consumes the sugar would have his wish fulfilled.
Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made by the Kheda district police and all vehicular traffic on the Santram Mandir Road would be stopped on five days. Also 120 jawans of Nadiad police have been deployed for the eve at apart from 300 jawans from outside the district joining them. Forty traffic constables, 40 mahila police, 300 home guards, three PIs and 26 PSIs would be on duty.
