Eleven sentenced to life in a murder case
Balasore, Jan 29 (UNI) Additional District and Sessions judge K C Swain today sentenced eleven accused to life term, holding them guilty in the Simulia murder case.
According to the prosecution, all the accused murdered one Kusabhadra Sial (32) of Maitapur under Simulia police station on the night of August 26, 2002.
Police later arrested all of them on the basis of compliant of the deceased brother Daitari Sial.
The accused had brutally assaulted the deceased for refusing to pay donation for a Muni mela, organised every year in the village.
The victim was working in a private nursing home in Kolkata and on the day of incident had arrived in the village.
It was alleged that the convicts not only hacked to death Kushabhadra but also injured his mother and brother when they were taking him for medical treatment.
The victim succumbed to the wounds on his verandah in the village before receiving any medical treatment. Police later seized the weapons used by the accused in the incident.
