DUTA members stay away from colleges
New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) Members of the Delhi University Teachers' Association today struck work demanding action against the Principal of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College for her alleged ''corrupt and autocratic style of running'' the institution.
DUTA said its general Body had demanded an impartial inquiry into the charges against Dr Jitender Kaur.
''The Shaheed Bhagat Singh College Staff Association has also prepared a series of white paper which documented more than 200 charges of financial, administrative irregularities against the principal,'' DUTA President Amar Deo Sharma said.
''The recent Audit report conducted by the Delhi administration has made startling disclosures,'' he added.
Mr Sharma said neither the College Governing Body nor the University Administration and the Vice Chancellor have taken cognizance of DUTA demands.
''The day-long strike was called as the University authorities had turned a blind eye towards the issues raised by us,'' he added.
