CNR Rao awarded 'Desikottamma' title

Bangalore, Jan 29 (UNI) Renowned scientist and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, C N R Rao, was conferred upon the prestigious title of 'Desikottamma' by the Vishwabharathi, Shantiniketan, in recognition of his contribution to the field of science.

Prof Rao, also the National Research Professor and Honorary President of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, bagged the unique honour bestowed on persons of distinction, a release from JNCASR here said today.
