Bomb hoax on Avantika Exp

Indore, Jan 29 (UNI) Information about a bomb on the Indore-Mumbai Central 2962 Avantika Express, which left from here this afternoon, turned out to be hoax but the train had to be halted for about one-and-a-half hours to enable a search.

The train was stopped in Ujjain district's Kadchha, between Dewas and Ujjain, at about 1715 hrs.

''The search involved police personnel from Ujjain, Dewas, the Government Railway Police's Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs,'' said Deputy Inspector-General (Ujjain Range) Ajay Raj Sharma.

Information about the 'bomb' was received at the local police control room this afternoon through a call from a telephone booth in Rajwada area here. Before the police could act, the train left at 1550 hrs.

No arrest has been executed so far.
