Australian band to sizzle Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 29 (UNI) The city is all set to experience a gala musical evening with Australia's music ensemble, Australian Art Orchestra (AOA) performing live at Birla Sabhaghar today.

AOA would be performing along with Sruti Laya Ensemble of the city.

Breaking the barriers between jazz and classical music, western and non western music, their programme ''Into the fire'' would present fusion music in a new perspective.

Carnatic mridangam maestro Karaekudi Mani would also perform.

AOA has already performed at the Gateway of India in Mumbai as part of the Mumbai Festival 2007.
