AP Govt confirms serving notices to Jaya for assigned lands

Hyderabad, Jan 29 (UNI) Joint Collector of Ranga Reddy district in Andhra Pradesh Syed Muqtadar Rizvi today said notices were served to former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa for purchasing some lands assigned to the poor.

Talking to UNI, he said while the government had already taken possession of over 3,500 acres of assigned lands, recovery of Jayalalithaa's lands was under process.

He confirmed that notices were already served on her in this regard.

Ms Jayalalitha had alleged in Chennai yesterday that her vineyard was being taken over by the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh due to 'political vendetta' as her party had supported the Telugu Desam Party's agitation protesting against possession of lands assigned to the poor by Chief Minister Y S Rajaseljara Reddy at New Delhi recently.

As per reports, Jayalalithaa has seven to eight acres of vineyard named as 'J J Gardens' in Peta Bashirabad under Kutbullapur Mandal.

It is said that Jayalalitha used to visit the place for taking rest when she was the Chief Minister.

Kutbullapur RDO John Wesley had served the notices to Jayalalithaa, Ranga Reddy District Revenue Officer Jaya Rao told UNI
