19,000 complaints of Narmada valley PAFS disposed
Bhopal, Jan 29: As many as 19,629 complaints of theproject-affected families of Narmada Valley has been collectivelydisposed by two grievance redressal authorities (GRA) -- GRA Narmadacomplex projects and GRA Sardar Sarovar project.
The GRA Narmada complex projects was being headed by formeradditional chief secretary Mr Ravindra Sharma, whereas the GRA SardarSarovar project was working under the chairmanship of former High CourtChief Justice G G Sohani.
Mr Sharma informed that the GRA had registered 17, 245 complaintsand disposed 10,755 complaints by December 2006, an official releaseadded.
Most 15,183 complaints had been received from the Indira Sagarproject-affected families. Of them, 9,237 complaints had been disposed.The GRA used to organise camp courts in the project areas to facilitatethe affected applicants.
The GRA constituted for the disposal of complaints of SardarSarovar Project affected families has disposed 8,872 complaints out ofabout 11,000 complaints registered so far.
The state government had extended rehabilitation package andfacilities to 24,421 families affected by the present SSP dam height of121.92 m. Rehabilitation of 14,000 families likely to be affected bydam height 138.68 m (FRL) were in progress, the release added.
