Youth kills parents, brother; commits suicide

Kolhapur, Jan 28 (UNI) A 28 year-old youth shot dead his father, mother, brother and himself at village Turkewadi in Chandgad tehsil of this district.

The deceased were identified as Pandu Parshram Naik (55), his wife Tulsabai (50), their son Arjun (25) and the accused Gopal Pandu Naik, police said today.

Gopal had one-sided love affair with daughter of plaintiff Vijay Nigu Patil hailing from the same village. Both family members opposed Gopal's plan to turn the love-affair into a marriage. Gopal was not happy and out of frustration, he might have done the act with his twelve-bore gun last midnight, police said.

Gopal's sister Renuka(17) and plaintiff Patil's wife Prabhavati(35), were injured in the incident. They were admitted to a nearby hospital.
