Woman successfully completes feat, set to enter Guinness

Chennai, Jan 28 (UNI) Aiming an entry into a Guinness Book of World Records, a 47-year-old woman known as ''Karate'' Banumathi today successfuly completed a feat by allowing 565 motor cycles to pass over her while lying sandwiched between glass pieces and a wooden plank with protruding 1525 nails.

As part of the feat, a granite stone weighing 500 Kg was laid and broken on the plank, while she was lying under it.

Dr Mohan Rajan and M George Bernard, President and Secretary of the city-based Challengers Academy, which organised the event, said an another feat was also organised by one S Raja to enter the Limca Book of Records.

Mr S Raja today broke a previous record held by Mr Nayak of Mumbai, by scoring 32 one-arm pull-ups in 32 seconds.

Mr Nayak held a previous record of 27 one-arm pull-ups in 41.5 seconds.

Both the feats were performed in the presence of Former Chennai Mayor M Subramanian and Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority Vice-President S Kumarasamy.

The judges for the feats were Muniappan (Mr India/Body Building), Mr P Ranjithkumar (Mr South India/Body Building), Mr Anandakumar (Secretary of the TN NGO Assn) and Mr K Veerabadran, a Guinness World Record Holder.

The judges said video footages and other documents would be presented before the Guinness World Record Office at London.

Later Karate Banumathi, told newspersons that she had been practising for about three years to perform the feat.
