Three criminals killed in encounter with STF
Morena, MP, Jan 28 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) shot to death three criminals allegedly involved in various crimes in several districts of Madhya Pradesh in an encounter near district headquarters last night, the police said today.
The motorcycle-borne trio opened indiscriminate fire on the STF officials at 2200 hrs yesterday. The police chased the miscreants as they tried to flee and shot them dead in a farm where they hid themselves.
The three were identified as Kallan Lohar, Jagdeesh Patel and Sunil Yadav. The police recovered a revolver, a crude pistol, four home made guns and several cartridges from their possession.
The trio were accused of murder, abduction, dacoity and several other serious offences in Morena, Gwalior, Chhatarpur, Shivpuri, Datia and other districts.
The district police had announced a bounty of Rs 5,000 each on their heads.
About one and a half months ago, the three abducted a local doctor and freed him after their demand of ransom of Rs 2 lakh was met.
