Tata Motors to add passenger car set up in AP

Hyderabad, Jan 28 (UNI) As part of its on-going dealership network expansion plans, Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company, today announced the opening of its passenger car set up here with the inauguration of Autofin in Bowanpally.

This is the 13th Passenger Car set up in Andhra Pradesh and the 44th in the southern region. Autofin in an 8,000 sqft modern showroom providing complete sales support and display eight vehicles. The facility was manned by qualified, experienced and trained personnel. It also has a 70,000 sqft state of art workshop and 20,000 sqft of stockyard.

Commenting on the occasion, Vice President (Commercial) Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors S Krishnan, said in the first six months of 2006-07, cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market were 1,04,294 numbers, an increase of 24 per cent over the previous year. In 2005-6 Tata Motors Passenger vehicles sales in the domestic market amounted to 1,89,070 units, the highest ever.

Tata Motors passenger vehicles continued to be the highest selling in their respective segments. Indica in the Rs three to five lakh hatchback segment for the second year running, the Indigo in the entry midsize sedan segment for three years running, the Indigomarina in the estate segment for two years running and the Safari in the premium SUV segment. The Indica also continued to be the second largest selling car in the indusry for the second year running.

"With the introduction of this facility for Autofin, the customers of Tata passenger vehicles can now look forward to increased options and choice, as well as enhanced levels of support for the vehicles that they purchase," Mr Krishnan added in a release here.
