Supporters of Sidhu, Singla clash

Amritsar, Jan 28 (UNI) Supporters of Cricketer--turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu (BJP) and Punjab Finance Minister Surinder Singla (Congress), facing each other in multi-cornered contest in Amritsar parliamentary by-election, clashed during an open debate between the two leaders on a private TV news channel here this evening.

Shouting slogans, they ransacked the dias specially setup for holding the debate in Khalsa College complex. In the melee, Mr Singla felldown from the dias.

It was not yet known if any of the supporters was injured in the clash.
