Mother charged with murder of two children

LONDON, Jan 28 (Reuters) An East London mother was charged with murdering her two young children today after the bodies were found at a home.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Investigation Team found the bodies of the 10-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl yesterday morning in Hackney.

Police said in a statement they had arrested a 29-year-old woman at the scene and later charged her with murder. Earlier they had given her age as 30.

The children were not yet formally identified, but police sources said the suspect was their mother.

Post mortems to determine the cause of death will be held tomorrow and Tuesday.
