Mahrashtra Governor expresses sorrow over Nayyaar's demise

Mumbai, Jan 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of well-known music composer O P Nayyar in Thane today.

In a statement, the Governor said, ''O P Nayyar had brought a refreshing change in Indian film music. He was a trendsetter who evolved his own distinct style of music and gave several all-time hit songs to music lovers. Gifted with subtle knowledge of Indian classical music, Nayyar was instrumental in giving the music world some of the finest playback singers. His music had the rare captivating charm and therefore he will be remembered by his innumerable fans for many more decades to come. I offer my condolences to the memory of this great master of Indian film music.'' UNI
