Jail escapee nabbed

Gaya, Jan 28 (UNI) CPI(Maoist) activist, Nanda Singh, who had ecsaped from Jehanabad jail in 2005, was arrested today from a hideout at Manjura village in Gaya district.

Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Jain said that one 9 mm pistol, large quantities of assorted cartridges and five detonators were recovered from the extremist.

The CPI(Maoist) activist, who hails from Choti Booknari village of Jehanabad district, was lodged in jail on charges of committing murder to a fellow villager Rupesh Kumar.

He then escaped from jail custody during the infamous Jehanabad jail break of November, 2005.
