Govt will consider certain demands of MPTCs: Congress

Hyderabad, Jan 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao today said the government would consider the demands put forward by Mandal Parishad Territorial Constitutency (MPTC) unions in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, after a meeting with the leaders of the MPTC unions, Mr Rao said the government would take a decision on honorarium to the MPTC members at a meeting scheduled to be held on January 30.

MPTC Union President Y Rajendra Prasad said the union would take a decision only after talks and consulting with other leaders and activists of the union.

He said the government had conceded only to nine demands and the remaining were not considered.

However, certain differences surfaced between the state MPTC Council and Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chambers.
