Govt to change face of Bihar: Nitish

Patna, Jan 28 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government will change the face of Bihar with its developmental programmes.

While launching developmental schemes of Rs 588 crores for Arariya district, Mr Kumar addressed a public meeting there and said 19 projects had been launched in the district.

He also inaugurated a hospital with 100 beds and three thermal power sub-centres under the project.

He said, ''environment was changing in the state and the government was committed to uplift the poor for which it had launched several schemes inclduing ration-kerosene coupon scheme.

Through these schemes BPL people would be given foodgrains and kerosene on coupons.'' He referred to the steps taken for the developoment of basic infrastructure of the state, including road, water and electricity.

He stressed that development was at the top of his agenda. Apart from this, the government was also concentrating on law and order, which had considerably improved, and the criminals were dealt sternly.
