Committees formed for selection of poll candidates: Minister

Rajahmundry, Jan 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister Jakkampudi Ramamohan Rao said two committees were formed to look into the selection of Congress candidates ahead of the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation polls.

Addressing presspersons Mr Rao said under the supervision of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) the committees would function. Of the 50 candidates, 30 were finalised and the first list would be released tomorrow. The Decision on the remaining seats would be made in a day or two.

He said load-shedding is unavoidable, but it would not have any effect on elections.

About developmental works he said, maximum civil works were being carried out in the town and it would continue. The Government's performance would help the party win the polls, he added.
