CM promises ITI in every assembly constituency

Shimla, Jan 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government has decided to open one industrial training institute (ITI) each in every assembly segment of the state in government and private sectors in a phased manner.

Addressing a public meeting at Lambloo village during the second day of his five-day visit of the district, he said the ITIs would equip the youth of the state with vocational skills and help them in getting employment.

Mr Singh said vocational and technical educational institutions were being opened in participation with private parties to give boost to the technical education in the State.

He also announced the opening of an ITI at Lambloo from the next academic session.

Accusing the previous BJP government of being the most corrupt state government ever, he said corruption was rampant during its tenure.

Launching a scathing attack on Mr Dhumal, he said the former chief minister had done nothing for the area and it was clearly visible today.

Mr Singh said had the former chief minister had done anything for the area, there would have been no need for the state government to sanction projects for the area.

About 130 senior secondary schools were being provided science blocks in the state to inculcate scientific temperament among the students besides creating avenues of employment and self-employment, he said.

He said all the senior secondary schools in government sector would be having science and commerce as compulsory subjects, since both the disciplines had vast employment potential.

Infrastructural facilities were being created to cater to provide quality education to the students to make Himachal Pradesh an educational hub in the country.
