Rajahmundry, Jan 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary Somuveerraju today said his party would contest alone in the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation elections.

Talking to newspersons here, he said they would present the affairs which took place for the past five-years in the Corporation limits to the public. Both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and ruling Congress failed to render services to the public, he added.

Mr Somuveerraju alleged that both the Congress and TDP had misused the funds in conniving with each other. The corruption was rampant in the Corporation and despite bringing it to their notice, steps were not taken to correct the anomaly, he added.

He also questioned the properietory of the Roads and Buildings Minister Jakkampudi Ramamohan Rao, who said his party demanded the list of temporary employees, but did not get it from the concerned officials.

He said BJP would contest 15 to 20 wards and a list would be finalised tomorrow when the party State President and former Union Minister Bangaru Dattatreya, who is visiting Rajahmundry on a day-long visit.

Mr Dattatreya and the party activists would stage dharna in front of the Sub-Collector's office tomorrow on the price rise issue, besides visiting some of the wards, he added.
