BJP has not deviated from coalition understanding: Gowda
Bangalore, Jan 28 (UNI) Janata Dal(S) coalition partner Bharatiya Janata party in Karnataka had not deviated from the understanding reached by the two parties before forming the government in Karnataka, JD(S) Suprmeo H D Deve Gowda said here today.
Speaking to newspersons after the part National Executive meeting here he said the Karnataka government had taken tough actions to guard the interests of minorities. Though rightist orgaisations held public rallies, the BJP ministers in the state had not taken part in it. Hence the party was not worried over it. The JD(S)-BJP Karnataka Democratic Front was abiding by the pre-government formation understanding. ''As long as BJP is sincere to the front we have no problem,'' he said.
Stating that Mr H D Kumaraswamy's government was doing a good job, he said the media had done the valuation which said that inspsite of adversities the government had performed credibly and it was marching forward.
''All parties, including the Left and former third front partners had been critical of this coalition in Karnataka. However, we have ensured that our party philosophy was not diluted. The party will keep its identity intact at any cost,'' he said.
