Auto Drivers rsort to dharna in AP
Hyderabad, Jan 28 (UNI) The Anti Auto Digital Meters Struggle Committee today organised dharnas on National and State Highways, and resorted to road blockade over four hours here demanding the Andhra Pradesh Government to scrap the GO 213, making installation of digital meters mandatory on autorickshaws.
The Committee, along with other auto drivers' unions, organised dharnas on the outskirts of the city, obstructing traffic on National Highways. The auto drivers staged squatted on the roads, raising anti-government slogans.
Police had to resort to lathicharge at some places.
As the indefinite strike of the auto drivers entered the eighth day, the Government invited them for talks to solve the issue, on a condition that they should call off the strike before talks.
