3 die after eating poisonous cake

Mirzapur, Jan 28 (UNI) At least three members of a family were killed and two others taken seriously ill after having a poisonous cake in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said the incident took place in Madhupur town under Ahraura police area, where five people had taken seriously ill after consuming the poisonous food late last night.

They were rushed to Robertsgang hospital, where three people were declared brought dead. According to doctors, ''the condition of the other two was critical.'' The deceased were identified as Monika Devi (42), Srimati Devi (19) and Sharad (18).

Investigations were on.
