2 cops killed

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 28 (UNI) Two police constables were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a town bus at Melapudur Subway in the city early today.

Police said D Rajathulasiayya and S Shanmugam were on their way to bandobust duty for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's visit to the city when a private bus proceeding to Central Bus Stand hit them.

While Shanmugam was killed on the spot, Rajathulasiayya succumbed to his injuries en route to hospital. The driver was been arrested.
