15-year-old abducted Kashmiri girl traced in Punjab

Srinagar, Jan 28 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have rescued a 15-year-old abducted girl from the clutches of a 45-year-old man at Hoshiarpur in Punjab.

Nilofer, a resident of Balpora Wathoora in central Kashmir district of Badgam, was kidnapped by Ghulam Mohammed Doom of Kupwara from her residence on November 1last year.

A case under sections 363 and 376 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) was registered in the Sadder police station.

During the course of the investigations, a police team was deputed to Punjab, which rescued the girl from the clutches of the abductor at Shahpora, Hajipur in Hoshiarpur district.

Doom had been arrested, police said, adding that the girl was brought to Srinagar and handed over to her parents after completing all the legal formalities.
