Vijaya Bank posts Rs.267.69 crore profit

Bangalore, Jan 27 (UNI) Vijaya Bank today announced a 65.84 per cent increase in its net profit for the third quarter of fiscal 07 at Rs.267.69 crore.

On a sequential basis the increase was 57.7 per cent with the net profit for the second quarter being Rs.92.73 crore.

The total business at the end of the quarter was Rs.53,975 crore, up by 26.76 per cent year on year, the Bank said in a release here today.

The Bank said interst income from advanced rose by 25.36 per cent at Rs.1250.34 crore.

The total cash recovery upto December end was Rs.179.62 crore as against Rs.140.03 crore for the same period last year.

The Bank said the total advanced increased from Rs.16307 crore to Rs.20,730 crore, recording a 27.12 per cent.
