Two in US embassy car shot in Nairobi carjacking

NAIROBI, Jan 27 (Reuters) Two women in a US embassy vehicle were shot dead in a midday carjacking on the western outskirts of Nairobi today, police said.

''There were five Americans who were intercepted by gangsters.

There was a person who was driving and an elderly lady who took too long to get out of the vehicle and the gangsters shot them and threw them out,'' police spokesman Gideon Kibunjah said.

''The two were confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.'' Reuters YA VV2002
