6 arrested, police seize arms and ammunition

Agartala, Jan 27: Tripura police have seized arms and ammunition from a vehicle and arrested six people near the Agartala-Shimla road in the western district yesterday.

Acting on a tip off, Lefunga police in a search operation raided the Kamalghat area and seized a maruti van with .22 revolver along with four rounds of arms from Abdul Salim of Jogendranagar here.

The revolver was reportedly imported from Bangladesh, police said.

The police have detained all the five occupants of the van including the driver.

Interrogation was on to apprehend all those involved in the crime and a case had been registered against them.
