Seven wounded in bomb blst in Dhaka

Dhaka, Jan 27 (UNI) Seven people, including a junior officer of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), were injured in a bomb explosion which was triggered near a police box in Gulistan area here tonight, police said.

A junior officer of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), anti-crime elite force, and six other people were injured in the bomb blast.

Some unidentified miscreants threw the bomb at the RAB car, which was parked in front of the police box, at about 1900 hrs,'' a police official said.

The injured were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Khairul Islam, Milon, a working boy of the police box, Abdul Aziz, a public toilet cleaner, Nasir, a rickshaw-puller, and three pedestrians.

Motive behind the attack was not known.

The injured, one in a critical condition condition were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
