Select metal prices rise on good industrial demand

Mumbai, Jan 27 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on good industrial demand today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, Copper heavy and Brass utensil hiked by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, Zinc slab fell by Rs 100 per quintal on poor demand while Lead ingot eased by Rs 200 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode went up by Re one and Rs seven per kg on reduced stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 31,200, Copper utensils - Rs 29,500, Brass utensils - Rs 23,200, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,300, Aluminium ingots -Rs 14,200, Zinc slab - Rs 20,200, Lead ingots - Rs 7,600, Tin slab - Rs 616 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,932 (per kg).
