School bus catches fire, students safely evacuated

New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) More than two dozen school children today had a miraculous escape after their bus caught fire in Chirag Dilli area of South Delhi this afternoon.

The bus belonging to Kannada School, on Lodhi Road, caught fire on its own near Chirag Dilli flyover at about 1430 hrs, said the Fire Brigade.

However, all the students in the bus were evacuated safely before the fire could spread. ''No one was injured,'' said the fireman.

Five fire tenders battled for more than 20 minutes before they could control the flame. The bus was totally destroyed in the fire, the fireman added.
