MTNL quarter 3 net zooms 90.5 per cent
New Delhi, Jan 27: State-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today clocked 90.5 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 224.01 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, as against Rs 117.58 crore during the same quarter a year ago.
The company's total income also increased by 7.2 per cent to Rs 1,449.26 crore in Q3 FY07 from Rs 1,351.70 crore in Q3 FY06.
MTNL's Board also approved the payment of interim dividend for the current fiscal at the rate of 30 per cent (Rs 3 per share) on the paid up capital of Rs 630 crore.
In addition, February 20, 2007, has been fixed as the record date for the purpose of payment of interim dividend, a company statement said.
