MCD to invite global tenders for maintenance work of urinals

New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) The Municipal corporation of Delhi will shortly launch global tenders for maintenance of toilet complexes and urinal complexes in the city, Delhi Mayor Farhad Suri today said.

Addressing a delegation from Alabama, a South-Eastern State in the US, which has arrived in Delhi to explore various business options as well as bilateral ties in different fields, Mr Suri invited US firms to participate in MCD's global tenders for maintenance of toilet and urinal complexes and sanitary landfill sites.

Mr Suri told the delegation, led by Mr Ronald D. Sparks, that MCD would soon launch global tenders for 5000 toilet complexes and about 10000 urinal complexes. These complexes would be available for commercial exploitation by way of advertisements.

MCD is working on projects for power generation and Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from 7000 metric tons of garbage generated in Delhi. The companies can earn by way of commercial exploitation of credit carbon generated in the processes.

Stating that MCD is seeking participation of international firms, Mr Suri said the US firms can offer their expertise in the field and benefit from the ventures.

The delegation evinced keen interest in the MCD proposals.
