Interstate gangsters arrested with huge quantity of Hashish

New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a huge module pertaining to smuggling of 'Charas' of Nepal origin in the capital with the arrest of four interstate gangsters dealing in drugs and seizure of contraband worth about Rs 12 lakh.

The four - Shaukeen Ali, Babu Khan, Liyakat Ali and Shehzad Khan - were arrested by a team from the Narcotics Unit of Delhi Police on January 24 from near Karkardooma court when they had come to deliver a consignment containing a huge quantity of Hashish (Charas).

The arrest has brought to light a smuggling racket whereby drugs from the Cannabis fields of Nepal and Manali is being smuggled into the capital.

The interrogation of the accused had provided significant leads regarding the source of supply of these drugs and the recipients in Delhi. These leads are being further developed and likely to lead to more arrests, police said.
