Govt to open disaster management institute - Nitish
Patna, Jan 27 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced to open a disaster management institute here.
Mr Kumar said here that over five lakh people would probably meet unnatural death in case of an earthquake of 6.7 at richter scale in the capital town and all the casualties would be due to high rise buildings, which were not at all earthquake-resistant.
He said the Urban Development department had been directed to frame a rule for ensuring construction of earthquake-resistant buildings.
He said basic knowledge was being given to the people through several means how to combat an earthquake.
