Flying visitor ends life in Sangti Valley
Itanagar, Jan 27 (UNI) This year too the Siberian Black Necked Cranes, who migrate from neighbouring China and Tibet to Sangti Valley near here during winters, lost a member after it died by getting electrocuted.
The birds locally called 'Thung Thung Karma', stay here till the climate is mild and return home during February, when mercury starts rising.
In 2005 one of the member lost its life when it hit a live electric wire.
Sangti, a beautiful valley around three km from Dirang township, is known for the migratory Blacked Necked Cranes maintaining a congenial and harmonious existence with the local people.
