Flights in Vizag cancelled for eighth day

Visakhapatnam, Jan 27 (UNI) For the eighth day today all flights from the city were cancelled due to poor visibility and heavy smog.

Airport sources here said as the weather conditions would remain the same for another two days, flights might not be operated for a couple of days.

All airlines announced the withdrawal of flights by noon. The visibility was 4,000 metres. they said Meanwhile, air passengers were agitated over the frequent cancellation of flights.

Andhra University Meteorology Prof O S R U Bhanu Kumar told UNI that while the 'anti-cyclone' effect would be there for another two days, the cooling effect of the earth would change from today as the hydrological cycle was going to be active due to sun entering into the Northern hemisphere.
