Efforts sought to tackle drought

Pathanamthitta, Jan 27 (UNI) The District Development Council has demanded that the departments concerned should make efforts to tackle the imminent drought situation in the district.

The Council recommended that the contractors, who failed to finish Nabard-funded work, should be included in the black-list.

The Council also sought action on a war-footing to make the M C Road traffic-worthy.

The council also asked local bodies to sanction licences only to such hospitals equipped with scientific waste disposal facilities.

District Collector Ashok Kumar Singh chaired the meeting.

MLAs K Sivadasan Nair, Raju Abrahma, Adoor Prakash and Joseph M Puthussery attended the meeting.
