Hamirpur, Jan 27 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today urged people to reject all the ensuing elections in the state.

Addressing a gathering at Patlander area on the first day of his five-day tour of the district, he said the previous BJP government was one of the most corrupt state government. It had thrown all norms to wind during its last tenure by giving jobs to people close to BJP while ignoring meritorius candidates.

He said whenever elections were round the corner, BJP raises the issue of the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya to garner a few additional seats and then very conveniently forget it for the next five years.

''I am a Ram bhakt myself and want a Lord Ram temple in Ayodhaya.

However, no politics is needed on the issue. I will go to Ayodhya and do the kar sewa there instead of politicising the issue,'' he said while emphasizing the main endeavour of the Congress party which was to provide a neat and a transparent administration to the people who had suffered during the previous government's tenure, he said.

The plight of the party could be gauged from the fact that one of its Lok Sabha MP from the area was caught on camera seeking money for asking questions in the Parliament during a sting operation by a private news channel last year, he said.

Earliar, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of ''lift water supply scheme'' to be completed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore in Dhabriana and Rangar group of villages of the area.
