Dacoit Niranjan Gurjar nabbed

Gwalior, Jan 27 (UNI) A notorious dacoit, who carried a reward of Rs 27,000 on his head and was wanted in connection with the abduction of a bank manager, has been arrested along with a police constable from Uttar Pradesh, police said today.

''Yesterday afternoon, when attempt was made to stop a car, passengers opened fire and fled. However, police cordoned off the car and arrested five passengers,'' City Superintendent of Police Rai Singh Narwaria said.

Rajasthan's Dhaulpur-based dacoit Niranjan Gurjar, who was wanted in connection with bank manager Shivesh Gupta's abduction, was arrested.

A reward of Rs 2,000 was announced for information leading to his arrest by Rajasthan police, Rs 15,000 by Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior range police and Rs 10,000 by the Chambal range police.

Constable Dinesh Gurjar, who was posted at Tajganj police check post in Agra of Uttar Pradesh, was also nabbed. Other arrested included Netrapal, Mahipal and Bhajanlal.

Arms and drugs were seized from them.
