Port Blair, Jan 27 (UNI) The Andaman BJP unit will soon launch a mass agitation against the territory's Administration and UPA government for delaying the rehabilitation of the tsunami, affected people.

Though two years have passed since the deadly tsunami claimed the lives of thousands of people, the government has done nothing to rehabilitate the affected islanders, BJP unit's president Vishal Jolly told UNI here today.

Mr Jolly said about five thousand hectares of land was damaged and was permanently inundated with sea-water, but the Administration had not yet announced any package for them.

He also said the party was not satisfied with the rehabilitation works of local Administration and added that the officials had never consulted any political parties before starting rehabilitation works.

The party unit president also placed several demands like allotment of alternative lands to farmers, waiving of loans for tsunami hit businessmen and fishermen besides a CBI enquiry against the alleged corruption during the rehabilitation process.
