BJP condems ''soft approach'' towards separatist leader

Jammu, Jan 27 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bhartiya Janata Party today criticised the Congress, PDP and National Conference for their ''soft approach'' towards separatist leaders.

BJP activists today took out a massive protest march, which started from the party headquarters here and after passing through main bazaars of the city, culminated at City Chowk.

Party activists burnt in effigies the state government as well as separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani who ''insults the Indian Tricolour on every occasion.'' ''Instead of booking such anti-national elements the State government is treating them as VIPs and providing fool-proof security thus shielding them,'' BJP activist Kavinder Gupta said Mr Gupta also took the National Conference to task for demanding arrest of BJP state President Ashok Khajuria and keeping silent over what the valley-based separatist leaders have been preaching against India for decades.

He said the BJP chief did not commit any crime when he demanded a common flag and common constitution for Jammu and Kashmir, like other states of the country.

''We have been fighting from the Praja Parishad days for 'Ek Vidhan ek Nishan ek Pradhan (one nation, one flag and one Constitution) and have sacrificed Dr Shyama Prashad Mookerjee adding that our struggle has not ended yet and it will continue till our goal of Ek-Vidhan-Ek-Nishan-Ek-Pradhan is not achieved.
