Gurgaon: Ashtdhatu idols robbed from Jain temple
Gurgaon (Haryana), Jan 27: Twelve idols of deities, worth crores of rupees, were stolen from a Jain temple in the crowded Sadar Bazar area here this morning.
Two of the 12 'ashtdhatu' idols of Bhagwan Mahavir and other 'tirthankars' were later found abandoned close to the Digambar Jain temple premises in the city main Sadar Bazar, said the police.
The late last night robbery came to light after a devotee came to pay obeisance at the temple this morning. The room of the guard had been locked from outside by the robbers.
Senior officials, along with experts and the dog squad have reached the 'spot' and begun an investigation.
