AIADMK, MDMK volunteers join DMK

Chennai, Jan 27 (UNI) More than 2,000 volunteers of Tamil Nadu opposition party AIADMK and Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK), led by former AIADMK MLA N K Perumal, today quit their parties and joined the ruling DMK.

Those joined the DMK included the office bearers and councellors of Vilathikulam AIADMK and Kovilpatti union MDMK units, a party release here said.

Led by Mr Perumal, who was also former AIADMK Tuticorin District Secretary, the volunteers called on DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at Anna Arivalayam and joined the party by presenting him a shawl.
