2 killed in Dwaraka highway mishap

Jamnagar, Jan 27 (UNI) Two persons were killed on the spot and 20 others injured when their pick-up van collided head-on with a truck at Jamnagar-Dwaraka highway on the wee hours of today.

The deceased have been identified as Kanabhai Parbatbhai Sojitra (45) and Kelabhai Baghabhai Sojitra (60). The injured have been admitted to Khambaliya hospital.

According to police, the incident occurred at Movana village ahead of Khambaliya taluka about 65 km from here.

A Patel family had hired the van to Dwarka darshan and were from Bhalsan-Beraja village of Kalavad taluka of Jamnagar.

When the van was passing on a bridge the driver noticed the carcass of a bull lying on the road and he veered to right to avoid it.

A truck (GJ10W 5002) coming from the opposite direction collided head-on killing the two men.
