Violence cannot solve any problem:Datta

Kohima, Jan 26 (UNI) Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta today said violence can never solve any problem, whether it was the Naga political problem or differences among the Naga brothers.

Unfurling the tricolour on the 58th Republic Day here, Mr Datta said differences prevailling among the tribal and factional lines was adversely affecting the law and order in Nagaland and called upon the people to revive the inherent strength of the Naga culture and community spirit.

Mr Datta, whose five year term would over tomorrow, said the Centre and state government were trying to resolve the prolonged Naga political problem in a democratic manner, based on the principles that are enshrined in the Constitution formed 57 years ago.

It was the heartfelt hope of the people of Nagaland that the ongoing dialogue would result in an amicable settlement, acceptable to the people.
