'Star Luminary' wins Poonawall Bangalore Derby

Bangalore, Jan 26 (UNI) Second favourite 'Star Luminary' (Colm O'Donoghue up) won the prestigious Poonawalla Bangalore Derby (Grade-I), the main event of the races held here today.

The winner is the property of Dr M A M Ramaswamy and trained by S Ganapathy. This was fifth consecutive year the combitionation of Mr Ramaswamy and Mr Ganapathy winning the event since 2002-03.

Jockey Y S Srinath had a treble while trainers V Loknath, J S Dhariwal and Irfan Ghatala had a brace each.

Punters had a mixed day with five favourites obliging in a card of nine events.

Lucky punter (ticket no 006616) bumper prize of Maruti Car, Second and third prize (no 010983, 009423) claimed Hero Honda and the fourth prize (008134) claimed 29" Color T V, while the remaining 63 punters get the wrist watches.
