Sania, Bharadwaj get Society Young Achievers Award
Mumbai, Jan 26: Tennis sensation Sania Mirza and Director Vishal Bharadwaj were honured with the Society Young Achievers Award 2007 here.
The two were feliciated with the award last evening in the metropolis for their outstanding achievements in sports and film-making respectively.
Awards were also given to Vikrant and Ranjit (Business), Arnab Goswami (Media), Upen Patel (Glamour), Nandita Mahtani (Fashion), Payal Khandwala (Fine Arts), Rohit Roy (Television), Himesh Reshammiya (Performing Arts) and Shiney Ahuja (Films), The winners were chosen by Harsh Goenka, Mohammad Azharuddin, Jehangir Sabavala, Pankaj Udhas, Haseena Jethmalani, Mandira Bedi, Anupam Kher and few others in the respective categories.
Socialite Bina Ramani too was honoured on the occasion for standing up for truth in the Jessical Lall murder case.
MP and former Jammu&Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, while felicitating Ramani said, ''India is proud of women like Bina.
I salute you. The nation salutes you,'' he said.
